From Pacific Island countries to remote and regional communities in Australia and New Zealand, our Changemakers are a driving force in making a tangible difference in their communities.


ecostore uses an innovative blend of plant-based materials, recycled plastics, and paper to work towards 100% recyclability in their packaging. As an active ANZPAC Member, ecostore is committed to treating plastic as a valuable resource rather than a disposable material, with a focus on reuse/refill as the foundation of their product lines.

By turning waste coffee husk into durable cups, Huskee is not just addressing landfill woes but also challenging our consumption habits. Their remarkable journey has already seen 2.67 million Huskee cups sold globally, diverting 600 tonnes of husk from landfills, and swapping over 1.6 million single-use cups for reusable alternatives across 1,100 venues worldwide.

Discover the impact of the Samoa Recycling and Waste Management Association (SRWMA), which has significantly improved plastic waste management in Samoa. By establishing over 55 recycling stations and collaborating with local schools, SRWMA enabled the recycling of over 500,000 plastic bottles in just three weeks, enhancing community participation.

Through research and design, Coles was able to minimise excess material reducing packaging weight by 28%, whilst using a liner-less label to minimise waste in production. The product also utilised PLANTIC plant starch film, which washes away leaving the already recycled plastic tray to be recycled again.

The Plastic Free Foundation, founder of Plastic Free July, helps prevent 300 million kg of plastics being used each year. Their impactful campaigns and initiatives inspire individuals and businesses to rethink their usage of single use plastics, driving significant change nationally and globally. This year’s single use item of focus is coffee cups!
