PLASTIC FREE JULY

Plastic Free July is a high-impact global event promoting the minimisation of plastic waste over the month of July across businesses and consumers. This year, the teams at ANZPAC and APCO have taken the pledge to go plastic free, and we invite you to join us on the journey to a more sustainable future in Australia.

The Plastic Free Foundation is a supporter of ANZPAC and a Changemaker. Plastic Free July is a key initiative of the Plastic Free Foundation that allows us to work towards their vision of seeing a world free of plastic waste.

According to APCO’s most recent consumption and recovery data 1.2 million tonnes of plastic are placed on market as packaging. This is the second biggest material placed on market, with paper and paperboard taking first place with 3.65 million tonnes. Plastic Free July helps us to cement that when plastic is used it should be treated as a valuable resource and not a disposable material. Do your part and take the pledge to refuse single-use plastics this July.
